We are looking for houses. It’s fun–stressful–exciting–disappointing–you know, a gauntlet of every emotion there is. We have a family of 6 living in a 2 bedroom home! We have two kids in one room and 2 kids in the other. My husband and I have moved our room into the dining room which is literally right off of the living room. If anyone comes to visit and sits on our couch–they are literally looking at our bed! I hate it, but you know–no one ever really comes to visit–so what does it matter. The kids, however, do matter. They live on top of each other and have no space that is their own. We have no backyard to speak of, and no driveway–no where for them to run around and just be kids. So it is for them that we are looking.
We were hoping my husbands next restaurant would open West of us–we can afford more in the Western Suburbs than we can toward the city–but we found out last night–that we will most likely be heading toward the city–toward Harpo Studio’s where Oprah is filmed.
Now this doesn’t have to kill our hopes of buying a different home–but the problem is–we are 45 minutes from Harpo Studios right now. So we would need to move East to be closer–but that’s closer in to Chicago–which I don’t want and we can’t afford, and it would still be a house and neighborhood like the one we are in. Or we could throw caution to the wind and move West anyway–adding an additional 45 minutes to my husbands already 45 minute commute!!
So there is my dilemma!! What would you do???
