Bad Mom/Good Mom!!

This morning I woke up feeling like it was really late. I do that alot–and then a few minutes later the alarm will go off–so I talked myself into that frame of mind–and snuggled back down. But as usual, the curiosity got the best of me and I got up to check the time. It was LATE! 15 minutes late to be exact. I ran in and woke the boys up, and threw their clothes at them. They had 5 or 6 minutes to get dressed for school before their ride got here. HOLY COW!! They made it out the door just a minute or two late–not too bad considering they hadn’t been awake 10 minutes yet!!

So I come in the living room to sit and check my email and have some “ME” time! Blakelynn was asleep on my bed and Barrett was sound asleep in his. Ahhhhhh, how nice to have a nice quiet morning! It was 9:09 am, and I was the only one awake!! Sounds peaceful doesn’t it?? Well, that is your first clue that I’m forgetting something!! Today at 9:00 am, Blakelynn has a field trip to the Franklin Park Police Station! Yep, 9 minutes ago!! So I was just going to let her sleep and explain it to her later in the day–but all I could think of is how she’s talked about this field trip for 2 weeks–and all day yesterday. So I wake her up, throw her clothes at her–pull her hair into a pony tail–grab Barrett jammies and all–and we head out the door. Again–not too bad considering 5 minutes before she wasn’t even awake!!

So we drive the 6 minutes to school–and I’m thinking I will just meet them at the Police Station (it’s just across the railroad tracks from school)–but they were supposed to leave school to walk to the Police Station at 9:15 and it was now 9:21 and there were no signs of a field trip underway–so I thought we would head to school to make sure they had left. As we pulled in the parking lot–the class came out to begin walking! Blakelynn missed NOTHING!!! Yay for her–Hooray for me!!

And now I’m back home! Barrett is watching Elmo in my bed–and I’m having a little me time! I certainly hope I’m not forgetting something else!!
