I have put up drawers in our kitchen. Each child has their own drawer and in it are all the healthy snacks you could think of. This is one thing in the kitchen that the kids don’t have to ask permission to eat.
It’s also there to make my life just a little easier. You see Blake will come to me every 10 minutes telling me that she is hungry. There is no way she is hungry, because she just ate. So instead of getting up and making her something every ten minutes–she just gets to choose a healthy snack to tie her over until the next bout of hunger hits! So far today she has had 2 bags of apple slices, a granola bar and a multi-grain breakfast bar! That is on top of the cereal she had for breakfast! It’s almost lunchtime–so I will have to find her something a little more filling. Then it’s nap time! I can’t wait!
