Well, I have sunk back into the depths, however, I’m feeling much better right now!! I took ‘2′ happy pills yesterday–you know–playing catch up. Yesterday was horrid–it was honestly one of those days when you just know your kids would be so much happier if you weren’t their mom! Anyway–I went to bed shortly after the boys did. That’s amazing because I’m never in bed before 9 pm, and rarely am I in bed long after 9 pm has passed!! But last night I was exhausted and emotionally drained–so I thought I would try! Nope-the insomnia of depression had decided to set in! I hate that part! I did doze in and out and finally got up at 4:15 am. I started working on the template I’m tweaking for a “stranger/friend” and headed back to bed around 6 am. Not too bad, but I had finally fallen into a deep sleep when the alarm went off at 8 am! So, I’m running on about 1.5 hours of sleep–should be a great day–but hey–the spirits are lighter–and the sun is shining–I’m good!!
I think today the two B’s and I will walk to the local park. It’s only a couple of blocks away-and the kids love it. It’s completely enclosed with fencing-very safe for the B-man–and close enough to school that if we go late enough we can just pick up the boys and walk home. It would have to be after B-man’s nap or he will be pretty darn grouchy. I would like for him to walk the whole way–but I would need to bring the stroller because that would tire him out-and I can’t hold his hand, his sister’s hand and bring a stroller at the same time! So he may just have to ride in the stroller and get his energy out at the park! I think it’s a plan!!
A couple of weeks ago we purchased some basketball card holders on Ebay. We had purchased from this seller previously. We bought 1 box of holders and when it arrived it came with a complimentary binder. Very nice–unexpected–but nice! So when we saw an auction by the same person with the listing: 100 Soft BCW Protective 9 card pages sleeves 4 binders we thought it was a great auction deal. Now I understand to a “seasoned” Ebay-er–this may not have been confusing–but considering we had gotten a binder the first time my husband and son read it as—100 sheets that hold 9 cards, and 4 binders. Good deal–they ordered 2 sets. Shipping for each item was $10.00. Kind of steep–but hey, binders take up room, so they accepted it–but sent an email to see if both auction items could ship together. We NEVER got an email back regarding shipping–so finally–we just paid the two. When they arrived, they were simply two boxes of 100 protective sheets FOR binders. Not 4 binders. Now we were furious! Not because we didn’t get 8 binders (that was part of it), but we had just spent $20 bucks in shipping two little boxes that couldn’t have cost more than $8.00 TOTAL to ship! So I was going to get on his feedback and trash him. I mean–he’s an Ebay employee–he should know that you can’t submit the number 4 (quantity) for the word FOR!! Instead of flaming him–I took a step back, and just left it alone.
Until yesterday! He actually sent an email ‘reminding’ me to leave feedback for him and he would leave feedback for me! I’m sorry—Mr. Ebay Employee—–If you recieved your payment in a timely manner–there should be feedback left the moment you get your payment–not until after you see what I wrote about you!! Anyway, I digress–I sent him back an email–detailing the above (not so sweetly) and asked him at the bottom if he really wanted me to leave him feedback-because I would be more than happy to leave him feedback!! I haven’t heard back–but I’m assuming Mr. Ebay Employee–will skank back to the dark depths of his black little hole!
Ridiculous!!
My birthday is coming up just after Mother’s Day. I love the month of May–it’s my birthday, Mother’s Day and anniversary all rolled into one month. This year will be our 10th Anniversary–I’m kind of amazed by that. I was paying bills earlier and had to check the bank balance. Last week one of my husbands cooks was moving and wouldn’t be getting his pay check until this week. So my husband asked if we could give him cash out of our account-and then he would just take the guys check this week. But I didn’t notice it in the deposit yesterday. So I called him just now to make sure he remembered that he was keeping the other guys checks. Turns out he’s got it–cashed it–and is keeping the cash. I don’t mind this at all–he is a good provider–we have plenty–but it’s kind of a lot of money to be carrying around with him. When I asked him why he wanted it–he’s holding money because he has an expensive month ahead of him! Now, I told him that the new computer was supposed to be most of this–but he is having none of it! He’s such a sweetie!! I would actually rather have it in the Savings Account building up the downpayment for our house!!
After no sleep on Thursday night–I went to bed really early on Friday night. Which left dad in charge of the 4 kids–not always a good thing! Bug spilled milk all over the kitchen floor and took dad’s work keys and basically wreaked the havoc he normally piles on my life–on his dad’s!
I woke up today expecting to feel great! Lots of sleep and all–but I have to say-this is about the worst I’ve felt in a while! So much for today! I have so much to get done–and all I’ve accomplished is paying the bills, and writing a shopping list! I did remove my kids names out of 100 of my blog posts–so I only have like 500 posts to go!! It is nearly nap time for the baby and his sister–so maybe I’ll snuggle down with them!
Last year at the end of the summer our entire family headed up to Jellystone Park in Wisconsin. It was the biggest, most amazing camp ground I’ve ever seen. We rode golf carts everywhere we went. There were 2 miniature golf courses, movies at dusk, villa’s to stay in, an indoor and an outdoor water park-and a campfire–just for marshmallows! We stayed for only 2 nights, and it really was a short little trip for everything that it had to offer. This year the family is talking about heading up again. This time for more than just a week end.
My kids are especially excited about the prospects of getting to go to the waterpark again. I’m excited for the marshmallows–and my husband isn’t too keen on the idea of a week off! We have so much to do travel wise this year–that 1 week in Wisconsin is not in his plans!
I don’t mind a shorter trip–as long as I get my marshmallows!
Ok–I just finished posting about Blakelynn’s birthday party decorations–let me tell you the cute cake that she has asked for specifically!
It is two separate cakes–but in order to do the top portion–I will need 3 layers of cake. Ok, bottom layer–big square cake–pastel green frosting (it’s grass) then all around the base made out of gum paste or pastiage is a white picket fence. Then sitting atop this ‘grassy knoll’ is an oval cake-sculpted to be a basket. It will have brown basket weaving around the entire thing. Basket Weaving icing is my favorite thing to do. I decorated a friends wedding cake in basket weaving. Her’s was HUGE–5 layers all different sizes-all different levels. It was my wedding cake, but with an additional extra large layer on the bottom. Anyway–on the top of her basket will be gum paste butterflies—sugar cookie flowers– dipped chocolate flowers and I’m sure a large variation of other creepy crawlies! This is her “Garden” cake-and she’s designed it all in her head! I’m not sure where she’s gotten the image from–but it does sound cute–and so fun for mom to make!!
This is the Wedding cake I copied for my friends wedding. She added a larger cake that sat directly on the table. My wedding cake looked just like this one (only prettier)–and I DID NOT decorate it myself–I wanted to–but my mother forbade it! I still have all of the stands for this cake–I should really try to get them up on Ebay or something!!
This photo is kind of what I have in mind for the flowers, butterflies and bugs for the top of her cake! We’ll see if I can find the molds–cause I’m not sculpting them myself!!
Blake is on her last field trip of the school year. Next Tuesday they are having a pajama party/movie/popcorn day and then Thursday is the graduation program! I can’t believe the year is gone. The end of the school year is always a very sad time for me. Yes–it goes for the “stuck at home with 4 wild kids for the summer” too, but mainly it’s because my kids love school–and this year they have great teachers. Next years is anyone’s guess, but right now–Grayson has the neatest, sweetest teacher I have ever met–I’m going to miss her…and I know Grayson will!
Blakelynn has a spot reserved for next years 4 year old preschool–but if we move-she won’t be taking it! That’s kind of sad. I found this wonderful program in the Village next to ours–and I love it! I love the teachers. I love the lesson plan. I love the price!! They do a field trip every month, whether it’s to the park (like today) or ice skating, police station, fire station or the library. She has loved every one of these little trips! I love that there will be nap time for all of us when she gets home!!
Do you ever make a to do list with huge goals that will take days to finish? I generally don’t-but with the prospects of what this summer may bring–I have to say, the lists are starting. I kind of had a morbid thought the other day as I was straightening up around the house. I looked at all of my half finished projects, and thought–”If I died tomorrow–no one would know what to do with this.” What broke my heart about that the most was the fact that two of my most important projects are the two needing the most attention. My children’s scrapbooks, and my genealogy. I couldn’t stand the thought that somebody walking in wouldn’t know right where to pick up where I left off! Hence, the list begins! All of the scrapbooking stuff around the house has been pulled together. Each child has their own huge box–and all of their stuff, both finished and waiting are in their box. That should help immensely! My other big job besides these too–gather up all of my home videos and lay in bed at night and watch them, and then catalog what is on each tape. Lots of work–but definitely needs to be done!!
Right before I took Blake to school our power went out. Funny–I remember paying the bill!! Just kidding, it turns out a truck hit a power transmitter which caused the outage. It came back on just as I was about to leave for school. I did wonder if Blake’s school had been affected by the outage. But figured it was several blocks away, so we headed out. Once we got to the school, we found out that it had been canceled. Blake was so disappointed–and I’m getting kind of ticked about this particular class. It has been canceled 5 times this year due to power outages–and yet I’m still paying the same price!
So Blake is home and whining for something or other. It’s constant–but I think she is going to be taking a nap with her brother!!
