Day 2!!

We expecting round two of the bad weather today, but it never hit. I’m thrilled! I have never had as rough a night as I had last night! And I’ve been up all night with colicky babies–this was worse! The heat was sweltering and I couldn’t keep my mind off of it. I finally put a bag of ice cubes on my neck to try to cool me down enough to sleep.

This afternoon on the way home from picking the boys up, it was amazing to drive down the main streets of towns and see huge trees either snapped in half or completely uprooted. That kind of thing is eerie to me–and so sad. We had been on this same road 24 hours earlier and all of these trees were just fine–and now by Monday–they will be gone. It’s just a heartbreak!

I had made my plans ahead of time. I told my husband that if the power was off again–he could find me at the Holiday Inn in Elmhurst. They have a water slide!!
