When I first started this blog–I wanted it’s title to be “Genki-ness”, but as most people have never heard the term Genki–I thought I would be pushing my luck with that one. Genki means Happy–so of course, Genki-ness would be the “Japerican” (yes, totally just made that word up!!) way of saying Happiness, or Happyness if you want to go all “Fresh Prince” on me!! But the one thing that remained in my thoughts was–I want to have a place where I can go from time to time and list small, not necessarily life changing events that make me happy.
Well, right at this moment I have something! My 2 year old is snuggled up in my bed watching a Diego video. He may actually be asleep right now, it’s mid-nap time and I was amazed he woke up! My four year old is in the backyard with her brothers–and I’m sitting in the kitchen blogging with a blind blocking my view of the backyard. Even though I can’t see–I can hear and it’s making my heart sing! In the backyard there are 7 kids, and only 3 of them are mine. They are playing baseball-or soccer depending upon which moment you happen to look out the window. They are yelling and cheering and laughing–all around having a very good time. THIS—is why we moved here. THIS—is what we were hoping for when we moved here. I’m so happy right now! My house is silent–but the happy noises emanating from the kids in the backyard just make today–perfect!
