Genki Desu Yo!!

Genki-ness!!

Have you noticed I changed the name of this blog? It’s what I always wanted it to be, but wasn’t sure anyone would get it. Do you remember the Will Smith movie “The Pursuit of Happyness”? They spelled happiness wrong–and they did it on purpose. This is the same thing–Genki in japanese means healthy/happy/fine, so Genki-ness would be my Japarican way of saying Happiness!

So…what to do with this blog? I’ve been thinking long and hard about where this little blog should go. I have a ‘family’ blog over at The Nykaza Family. I have a cooking blog over at Cheffin’ It (mind you it’s down for a makeover at the moment), I have a restaurant critique blog over at Restaurant Hopper–where should this blog go? I thought of hobbies. I used to do genealogy before I became addicted to blogging, but not really a fun blog subject. I used to scrapbook. Again, not a lot of input on that one. I could go all out Conservative Republican on you–but as much as I keep myself up to date on the issues–I am never one to argue. So I decided to stick with the title. Genki-ness!

Do you remember Oprah always said to keep a journal of thanks? Count your blessings per se. That will be more of what this is. It may steal content from another one of my sites. If my baby did something amazingly cool that day that warmed my heart…this blog may dip into the familial stage. If I find a recipe that brings a smile to my face, I may flash some culinary flair. As a person suffering from depression, I’m hoping something like this will help keep my feet and brain grounded in the fact that my life isn’t as bad as my mood makes it out to be. For every post I would like to find a complementary photo–something that brightens the eye as well as the heart! Because I’m not very good on living on the optimistic plane in life…my goal is to update this blog at least 3 to 4 times a week…but I really wouldn’t mind every day!

Some of you may find this path boring—but for those of you along for the ride…wish me luck!!
