Well, I am sick again! I’ve decided that it’s been off and on for over a year. So I’m going to sit down today and go through each and every blog post with a calendar. As I was reading over them a month or so again I laughed at how so many started that very same way…I’m sick again! I know I was sick over Thanksgiving–and it cleared up but flared up again at New Years—I was sick most of the Spring and Summer–and now again! So after I get my dates in check–I’m going to make a doctors appointment and take my dates in–there just has to be something wrong with my body if I’m constantly sick! I went years and years only ever getting that once a year cold—it would last three days, and I was good for a year. This is NOT the case here! I think it’s quite the opposite. I feel good for three days before the next illness sets in!
I’ll let you know what I find!!
Last night Barrett fell asleep in the family room. I didn’t mind, especially because it meant that he had actually fallen asleep. So I locked up the house, turned off the lights, and walked him up to bed. Of this I am sure! So I got up this morning to get the boys out the door–and every morning as I pass Barrett’s room and Blake’s room, I sneak in and put their covers back on them. But this morning, Barrett isn’t in his room. So I ran downstairs to see if he was bringing me up a gallon of milk–and he wasn’t. So I checked the family room and living room. No baby. All I could think about was how recently a 2 year old from our city let himself out of the house while his parents were still sleeping, and the parents were later arrested–but even worse than that–it’s COLD outside–and I’m not sure he would survive the chill in his little thermal underwear jammies.
But every door was still locked and the chain lock was in place on every door. So I ran back upstairs thinking maybe he fell off of his bed and rolled under it. Nope–not there! Headed to my room–to see if he found the floor by the bed–Nope-not there! Checked Blakelynn’s room–sometimes he’ll head in and snuggle in her big bed–Nope, not there either! Now it was getting late–and I hadn’t gotten the boys up yet–so I rushed in–woke them up–and continued my search–at a fever pace now. Head in to my room again to see if he’s found the floor on hubby’s side of the bed and to wake the hubby up to help in the search–and again–he isn’t there. I have checked everywhere–and just as panic/curiosity/worry maxes out–I realize that he is asleep at the bottom of the bed, hidden between the dog and the hubby lump.
Oh the relief! Even though the house was locked up tight–and he couldn’t get out–the cars were my next search! As I snuggled him into my blanket, I couldn’t help but kiss him. Worry and all—I was happy to see him peacefully sleeping!

Let me take a moment and introduce you to two of my favorite people! As all of you who read my blog know–one is Mr. Ted Murphy! Such an awesome guy! The other is my Aunt Peggy. She runs a couple of blogs and she currently lives in Apache Junction, Arizona. The Blog America Tour went through Phoenix and she had the opportunity to meet up with the gang for dinner. I must say–I was a bit jealous!!
If you haven’t had the chance to meet Ted–you are missing out. He is one guy who can win over the masses! I can’t wait to meet up with these two this weekend at PostieCon in Las Vegas!
I just started up my little “Weight-loss Blog”. It’s very new–and I’m hoping a daily accountability will be just what I need to kick things into gear! I signed up online for eDiets, and am mainly using them for menu ideas and fitness goals–as I have no idea on either one of these fronts. I’m not a big fan of so many of their menu’s so I’ll be spending the next month gleaning the keepers out of the misfits–and working on menu maintenance with budgetable calories. Don’t worry if that last sentence made no sense to you–it’s kind of my own little language to get my brain wrapped around it all! I’m looking forward to the days ahead–and hopefully soon–I will be able to lose ONE pound! Honestly, that is pathetic–try as I may–I’ve never been able to lose 1 pound. Starving, dieting, exercise–NOTHING!! So here’s to Day One!!

Look at these babies!! Are they not the cutest? The “Wild Man” isn’t in it, because at 3 years old, he’s got far more important things to do than sit looking pretty for mom and her camera! I really wanted to get new pictures taken–but really don’t want to pay the fortune to have professional ones taken. If you would like to see the rest of the photo shoot–head on over to the family blog, there are a lot of really cute ones–and some even have the “Wild Man” in them!

How cute is this?? She totally looks like she’s surfing the net. I don’t know if the owner posed her or not–but it’s definitely a cute picture–I can’t imagine what the caption will read over at “I Has Cheezburger”!!
Yes, I know you hear it from me a lot. But I do have a new domain up and running. It was actually the second domain I ever wanted–and it turns out to be like the 5th that I actually got.
A year or so ago, my sister let me know that you could register a domain name for Free with Microsoft. So we both signed up and I got the domain names Cheffinit.com and Katerbug.com. Then we found out we couldn’t do blogs on them, so we canceled them. The hosting company put a hold on the names–and when my sister wanted a new domain–I gave her Kater Bug Blue still hoping to get Katerbug for myself when the hold fell off. Well, I checked the other day–and the hold was still on Katerbug–but I was able to get Cheffin’ It. I still have the blogspot blog–but will be turning that back into my own little “Family Blog”–instead of the cooking blog that it has been–Now, I just have to wait for Katerbug–then she’s all mine!

Here they are–mid score! It looks as though the Princess was the first out of the gate–with Elmo a close second! Scream and Bones are neck and neck with Scream showing a slight advantage on the treat front! Who knew the little lady could muscle her way on in there and beat out the big (and little) boys!!

Here is my gang! Aren’t they so cute? Well, the two in the middle anyway! Jake (the skeleton) had a mask that changes colors. It was really cool. Grayson was thrilled with his scream costume–although both boys quickly grew tired of their masks. I think there will be a moratorium on masks from now on. Blakelynn wanted to be a princess–so of course, that’s what she is. Barrett was open to just about anything, but was thrilled with his Elmo costume.
It was the first Halloween that Barrett really knew what was going on. He would run to the house to be the first to ring the doorbell–and by golly–if you didn’t answer within 2.5 seconds of that first ring…you got another one, and another one! I think we cured him of that one by the end of the night. His Trick R Treat was pretty darn impressive as was his thank you after they gave him something. Then as he began his run to the next house his ‘You’re Welcome” was priceless!
I didn’t like how they moved day light savings back to give the kids a little more light while trick r treating (really to preserve energy–but hey, saying it was for the kids was nice)–but it honestly made it harder to trick r treat. It’s just not trick r treating during the daylight hours. Plus, you know which people are giving out candy and which aren’t because of their porch lights–there were no porch lights at 5 pm–cause it was bright as day out there!
Barrett got a number of wonderful presents for his birthday party. Not only did he get his big ride on truck from my mom and dad and us, but he got a bicycle from Uncle Bob, a dinosaur play set, a little people set, Bears sweats–and tons of clothes–cute clothes! One outfit I have my eye on for his birthday portraits. After I get them taken I want to make something like this…
For his grandparents! How sweet is that? Although instead of pillowcases, I think I will get them Photo Blankets. That way they can snuggle up in him while they watch TV this winter.
How nice it is to not only find an amazingly easy site to navigate–but to be able to make completely custom photo gifts. You can even include text with the photos–even cooler! I don’t know about my in laws–but my mom is ALWAYS cold–so this will be perfect for her!
